Carnality - A Masquerade Of
Deception
The Holy Spirit constantly works
against carnality. Why?
Shallowness is the monologue of
carnality. It's testimony is
contemptuous, having no genuine
respect for God's will. The means
of nourishment for carnality is
vanity and relies exclusively on
human tendencies and always
results in irrational and
unpredictable resolve.
The classic symptom of carnality is
an unwillingness to listen and
follow through with God's will (1
Cor. 3:1,2). This is a dangerous
problem! Why? Carnal believers
are left to their own inclinations
while lacking the ability to rightly
divide God's Word. This is why I
believe carnality is the number one
problem in the church. Carnal
Believers are always vulnerable,
even tolerant of the
mis-representation and
ill-interpretation of the Bible.
Christians cannot afford to live in a
constant state of carnality. It results
in reckless pursuits that
undermines spiritual growth.
Discerning Believers understand
that carnality is a perpetual state of
counterfeiting God's will for
selfish inclinations.
There is nothing more essential to
the Believer than spiritual growth.
The alternative is a constancy of
masquerade and bareness. Thank
God we have the indwelling Holy
Spirit who will never tolerate the
will of the flesh; but is ever
transforming us into the likeness of
Jesus Christ. Amen!
Roller-Coaster Life. HERE WE
GO AGAIN!
Matthew 11:1-6
Obedience is so vital to the
Christian life. When we neglect to
obey, there are serious
consequences. Regret and
instability are classic trade-marks
of believers who find justification
for disobedience. Often, the up and
down roller-coaster life is
tolerated. Thus, we lose sight of
the only incentive for living; the
sufficiency of God's amazing grace
which is the holy standard in all
manner of living (2 Corinthians
12:9).
Be careful to avoid the seduction
for a miraculous or spectacular
moment of change. It is not the
change of circumstances that breed
obedience, it is the prompting of
the indwelling Holy Spirit. The
Bible is the only means necessary
for a meaningful life. Your life
must not be defined by your
spiritual activities, but rather,
scriptural authority.
John 6:51
I am the living bread which came down
from heaven: if any man eat of this
bread, he shall live for ever: and the
bread that I will give is my flesh, which I
will give for the life of the world.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, I am the Way and
the Truth and the Life; no one comes
to the Father except by (through) Me.
Mark 9:47
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it
out: it is better for thee to enter into
the kingdom of God with one eye, than
having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
